The other day I saw fanart of a korean movie from 2011 about a hen escapin the egg-barn she had lived all her life, so I grew curious and saw the movie. MY. GOD.
So, the movie's proper title is "Leafie, a hen into the wild". It tells the story of a hen that escapes the egg-barn she used to live in, and goes into the nearby forest and countryside.
There, she's attacked by a weasel, but a wild duck saves her. Leafie is quite attracted by this duck, whom she nicknames Wanderer, but he happens to have his own mate. One fateful night, the weasel kills Wanderer's mate, and Leafie discovers that before she died, she laid an egg. Leafie decides to take care of the egg, even if it's a duck's egg, and so, the actual story began.
I would highly recommend to watch it in korean with subtitles, because other dubbed versions have censored scenes and because... well, the korean voices are just AWESOME!

Zira's appreciation post
(NOTE: I originally started writing this on my Twitter but decided to expand my thoughts here. As the title says, these are just my personal, jumbled thoughts about a villain that I find surprisingly interesting and wish she wasn't so overlooked just because she came from a Disney sequel. In other words: yes, I prefer Zira over Scar xd). (NOTE 2: I'm not taking into account anything stated about Zira in The Lion Guard, this journal is only about the film Simba's Pride and Zira's role in it). Imma be real with you, I think Zira is one of the most interesting Disney villains out there, but since she comes from a direct-to-video sequel she's extremely underrated. I just love how unhinged she is from the beginning and how in her demented mind she thinks she's "avenging" Scar. I love the ambiguity around her character. We never find out what her exact relationship with Scar was in-universe, yet she declares that Scar chose Kovu as his heir before he died. Is she telling the truth? Or is
I'm not leaving DA btw
I know that given the recent circumstances of DA, many artists left and/or completely deleted their accounts (and I don't blame them), but I am not leaving. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely disappointed with every bad choice DA has made in the last few years, but DA was also the first website where I started posting my art, all the way back in 2009, when I got my first tablet and drew using MS Paint because I didn't know what Photoshop was. My whole art journey of +10 years is archived in this damn site, moreover, my main fandom (The Lion King) is most active here and I get most of my clients through this website. Besides, I genuinely think that out of the "mainstream" art sites or websites, like Twitter, Instagram, etc... DA has the best balance between posting art and having interactions with your audience without damn character limits or comments sections so tiny you need a magnifying glass to read them. But no matter how good I think the site is (or was), the reality is that DA
